Great talk at today’s @UMPhysiology seminar by Dr. Steve Flavell from @MIT on how the nervous system #Celegans encodes sustained behavioral states. The ability to functionally map neural circuits in freely-moving animals was really cool. pic.twitter.com/ka3QCM4Ejj — Dan Michele (@MicheleLabUM) September 13, 2023

Research from the Flavell lab has been featured in MIT News this week. Cracking the code that relates brain and behavior in a simple animal MIT researchers model and create an atlas for how neurons of the worm C. elegans encode its behaviors, make findings available on their “WormWideWeb.” Read more!

  • Flavell Lab 2022 Retreat

The Flavell lab braved temperatures in the high 90s for their annual retreat this year. They journeyed down to Lincoln Woods in Rhode Island for a day of team building, science, food, climbing, and hiking, and had a fulfilling day despite the heat.
